OSCEM Science e-mail and text message service is provided Free of charge with the aim of improving the science literacy of the students and the general public and indulging their curiosities in science.

This service is provided on all weekdays except on government holidays, in Sinhala or English languages. Interesting information on Physics, Biology,Chemistry & Astronomy are sent to members on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays respectively.

A question based on a scientific concept behind an everyday incident is sent to all members on Fridays, to which all of them are given the opportunity to provide answers, on or before Monday of the following week.

OSCEM – Winner of e-Swabhimani 2014

National Best E-content Award

Vidunena Hawula Science Message Service (OSCEM) won a National award at the e-Swabhimani National Best E-content Award 2014, under the category of E-learning and Education on 5th November 2014.

The e-Swabhimani is an initiative of the Information Communication technology agency of Sri Lanka aimed at recognizing excellence in digital content creation. The e-Swabhimani Award process is being conducted along the lines of the World Summit Award and has input from the Digital Empowerment Foundation of India as the Knowledge Partner to ensure that the jury process conforms to international standards.
