The iron nail sinks in water but the boats that are made of iron, floats. What is the reason for this incident?
Jupiter is so big that twice the mass of the rest of our Solar System’s planets combined would still not be enough to equal its mass.
Iron is one of the most plentiful elements. It comprises about 5.6% of the earth’s crust and almost the earth’s entire core.
When we add water into quicklime or Urea there is a chemical reaction between water and other compound. The reaction between water and quicklime is an exothermic reaction. Because of that it releases heat to the environment. That’s why we feel hot. But the reaction between water and Urea is an endothermic reaction. Because of that the system absorbs heat from the environment. That’s why we feel cold.
When we add water in to quicklime the mixture became hot. But if we add water in to Urea it became cold. What is the reason for this incidence?
One bucket full of water contains more molecules than bucketfuls of water in the Atlantic Ocean.
When glass breaks, the cracks move at speeds of more than 4,500km/h (3,000mi).
Every second, the Sun pumps more than a million tons of material into the space through the solar wind (electrically charged particles.)
Heat energy is conducted from one at a high temperature to a one at a low temperature. If the room temperature is less than body temperature whatever object we touch, we will feel cold because heat will be conducted from us to that object. Metals are good conductors of heat and nonmetals are bad conductors of heat. Because of that metals absorb more heat than wood from our body. That’s why metal surface feels colder than a wooden surface.
Why we feel colder when we touch a metal surface than we touch a wooden surface if they are both at room temperature?
Did you know that the human brain is 77-78% water?
The sky is blue because when sunlight collides with our atmosphere, colours of the shortest wavelengths (violet and blue) are scattered – and our eyes are more sensitive to see blue.
Hydrofluoric acid is so corrosive that it will dissolve glass. Although it is corrosive, hydrofluoric acid is considered to be a ‘weak acid’.
If you screamed for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days, you would have produced just enough sound energy to heat up one cup of coffee.
