Answer for the Question of the Week

Sun heats up the Earth’s surface at daytime. As a result the air layer located just above the ground gets heated. The heated air rises up in the sky along with convectional currents. This rising air can give an upward lift to a surface that it hits. Eagles and hawks spread their wings to their maximum surface area to gain this lift, and so they don’t’ need to flap their wings to fly.

Answer for the Question of the Week

During the time water is falling, air in the atmosphere mixes with water. When it comes to the bottom area of the waterfall, the amount of air mixed in water becomes high. Presence of air bubbles reduces the density of water. As a result the upthrust(Upward force) that a swimmer gets from water reduces. This increases the probability of someone drowning when swimming in such an area.
